Stampin' Up! Daisy Delight Thank You Card - Week 4

Hi Stampers

I was invited to do the September weekly Blog post for the Crafty Cupcakes Design Team, along with Michelle of Craft-A-Therapy. You can see her blog

HERE

We will be using the Daisy Delight Stamp Set and Punch during September

Welcome to Week 4

Today I am making a "Thank You" card with a Retro look, reminiscent of the old days
All products used are by Stampin' Up! (SU)

I have made this card using the Daisy Delight Stamp set and Night of Navy ink and the Touches of Texture Stamp set. A full product list and cardstock sizes are below.

First I cut the cardstock for the card base, front matt, insert and the piece for the sentiment

Using the Night of Navy ink, I have stamped all over the front of the card using a stamp from the Touches of Texture Stamp set

Then I took the front matt cardstock and carefully tore approx 1/2 cm in a ragged pattern from all around the edge of the card

I stamped this with the Small Daisy flower head all around the edges and with a splotch of navy in the centre - stamp from Touches of Texture
Last I daubed all around the edges with a sponge dauber and Night of Navy. I stamped a few daisy flowers on the insert and added a sentiment from the Daisy Delight stamp set

The Matt is applied to the front of the card using Dimensionals to give it lift

I stamped the "Thank You" sentiment on a 1" strip of card and the tore off the ends to make it match the edges of the matt layer. This was also daubed on the edges.

I cut 2 pieces of Burlap to slightly wider than the width of the sentiment and glues them to the back of the card with snail glue, and the attached it to the card also with snail
I made a bow with the Bakers Twine and attached it with a glue dot
Lastly I went over the daisys with my Wink of Stella brush - I did not expect it to draw the colour across the daisys! Because the pen is almost empty, I decided to brush on a small amount of glue and add glitter to the daisys. (I keep a small tub of 50% PVA glue and 50% water for this type of thing. Leave to dry

I hope you like this card

Below are the items I used for the card

This month our theme is "Stampin'Up! Holiday Catalogue, Catalogue

Thank you for visiting my blog today.

Todays card is made using the new Painted Harvest Stamp Set from the Stampin' Up Holiday / Autumn Winter Catalogue

I really love this stamp set and its versatility. It is a 2 step stamp set, which means that you stamp the flower and leaf images in 2 stages - see below. I find it is best to do the lighter stamp first and then the darker one. I have also stamped the lighter stamp and then rotated it and stamped it again to give the effect of more petals.

I love how you don't have to stick to traditional Sunflower colours, but can stamp this flower in any colour combination that you fancy. I have made a demo page below with different colour combinations. The possibilities are limited only by your coloured inks

Card Recipe:-
Cardstock Crushed Curry 1/2 A4 sheet folded in 1/2
Cardstock early Espresso - 5 5/8 x 3 7/8"

Weekend Blog - Stampin' Up! Sheltering Tree Friendship Card

Welcome to my Weekend Blog

Today I am going to show you a card made with the Stampin' Up!(SU) Sheltering Tree stamp set

As the leaves on "My" tree outside my craft room window start to show the hues of autumn, I am looking forward to the annual display of amazing colours in our trees. This card is a nod to Autumn and also to my Friends who help me through hard times

I have made this card so that the image on the front overflows the matt that it is stamped on. This effect can either be done by doing all your stamping and then cutting out the square, or by cutting the square first, and then stamping. I have tried it both ways and both work.

Here I have done all my stamping and then carefully cut out the square. Always stabilize the framelit with Washi tape before running it through Bigshot machine. Once you have the apeture, cut 2 more layers of the same size in the matt colour and make glue the 3 square together to give a nice thickness. Mount with dimesionals

Complete your card as below

These are the items used to make this card

Card recipe:-

SU Sheltering Tree Stamp Set
SU Cardstock Old Olive 1/2 an A4 sheet folded in 1/2
